Travis Turner, a 46-year-old high school football coach, husband, and father from Virginia, was recently in the midst of preparing his currently undefeated team for a playoff game. However, on Thursday, November 20, he disappeared seemingly without a trace and hasn’t been seen or heard from since.

Now, the public has a clearer idea of why Turner may have gone missing. That’s because police have announced that they have a warrant for his arrest and that he has been five counts of possession of child pornography as well as five counts of using a computer to solicit a minor.

On the day that Turner went missing, law enforcement arrived at his home to speak with him. While they did not initially share publicly why they had gone to speak with them, they did acknowledge that they had not come to arrest him. However, when they got to the home, Turner was not there.

Turner is the head coach for the Union High School Bears, which is located in Big Gap, Virginia.

The school has not commented on whether or not any alleged victims of Turner’s could be connected with the school.

On Tuesday, November 25, a representative for Turner and his family released a statement urging the public not to form any judgments against him until the legal process has played out.

"We remain prayerful for his safe return and for everyone affected by the circumstances surrounding his disappearance," attorney Adrian Collins said.

"Any allegations should be addressed through the proper legal process — not through speculation or rumor. We ask the public and media to show compassion, accuracy, and respect for the family’s privacy,” he continued.

Law enforcement has been using K9s and drones to search for Turner.
