During a Twitch live stream on Monday night, Justin Bieber opened up about the experience of his wife Hailey giving birth to their son, Jack Blues. He provided details for the first time about what things were like in the delivery room and described some tension that ignited between him and Hailey’s doula while his wife was preparing to give birth.

“I remember dealing with like, there was tension with… because we had a doula and then we had a nurse as well, and the nurse and the doula were really kind of butting heads,” he began.

“Then I was butting heads with the doula, and it was just like this… and I was hella emotional because it’s like, this is like one of the most important times of your life, and I remember just like, I think I was being really strong with the doula.”

Justin explained wanting to feel like he was able to do his part as a husband and father by supporting Hailey throughout the birth process, but felt that the doula was preventing him from doing so in the way he felt he should.

The tension between the two caused Hailey to become anxious, and she asked Justin to apologize and “clear the air.”

“I was just like, ‘I’m sorry, I’m really sorry, my emotions are heightened, I don’t want you to take away from my moment either as the dad, like I got this too, there are times when I need to console Hailey, and I felt like she was pushing me to the side,” Justin explained.

He went on to express that he believes there are instinctual aspects of fatherhood during birth, particularly in terms of how a father should support his partner.

Justin and Hailey welcomed their son in August of 2024 and have shielded him from the public eye, never allowing his face to be shown.
