Giovanni Robinson was a new father who was from Ontario, Canada. He traveled to Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin, for a golf trip, and he got a hole-in-one.
That same day, the former Canadian Hockey League player was shot and killed in a mysterious shooting on a Sheboygan Falls street with no clear suspect or motive.
"It was my brother in law. He’s a Canadian and was there golfing. He was only 32, just had his first baby in August and got a hole in one that day. This is a nightmare," Jess Robinson wrote on the police department's comment thread on Facebook. He also went by the name Mike Robinson.
In a news release, Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin, police wrote that, on September 24, at about 12:08 a.m., they responded to the 600 block of Monroe Street “for an individual suffering from a gunshot wound. Upon arrival at the scene, officers located the victim, an adult male, suffering from a fatal injury.”
“Despite life saving measures being initiated and immediate medical attention rendered, the victim succumbed to their injury,” police added. “The male victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.”
Continued the police, “The Sheboygan Falls Police Department is actively investigating this incident. Officers are working diligently to gather evidence and interview witnesses to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. At this time, no suspects have been apprehended.”
According to police, “The preliminary investigation revealed the victim was shot by an unknown individual driving a vehicle. The motive behind the shooting is unclear. The suspect vehicle is only described as a small, dark colored SUV. To maintain the integrity of the ongoing investigation, limited details will be released at this time.”

WTMJ-TV reported that Robinson's family members said "he was embracing fatherhood and enjoying life before it was tragically cut short."
