Cardi B’s recent criticism of the “fucking high” rent affecting her fans, not to mention damn near everyone, has received a cosign from U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich.

In an X post shared Thursday, Oct. 16, the Democratic lawmaker from New Mexico said Cardi “is right,” adding that “costs are rising across the board” for those in the U.S. Heinrich also echoed Cardi’s criticism of the current administration, pointing the finger at Republicans who “aren’t doing anything” to remedy the problem.

“[Cardi B] is right,” Heinrich wrote. “And it’s not just rent that’s going up–costs are rising across the board. From your rent to your groceries to your utility bills to your health care premiums, this administration is making your life more expensive and Republicans in Congress aren’t doing anything to stop them.”

Last week, Cardi offered an apology to fans for asking them to buy her album, Am I the Drama?, amid rent prices that are “so fucking high,” both in the Bronx and nationwide.

“I hate the fact that I know if you was to say something to the Trump administration about the cost of living right now, they’ll be like ‘Yeah, suck it up,’” Cardi said at the time, as seen here. “You know what I don’t like? I don’t like that there’s a lot of single people, there’s a lot of students, there’s a lot of people that are working nine-to-five and because they’re working they don’t get no help from the government. I always hated that.”

As research analyst Peyton Whitney writes, “homeownership remains out of reach for many prospective buyers, especially those with moderate or lower incomes.”
