The Zac Brown Band is taking life on the water to a new level—literally.
According to People, the band’s frontman, Zac Brown, has teamed up with Margaritaville at Sea to launch Same Boat, a full-scale live music venue aboard the cruise line’s newest ship, Beachcomber.
The venue’s name nods to the band’s 2021 track “Same Boat,” a single that also featured the late Jimmy Buffett, the undisputed captain of island escapism.
Set to debut when Beachcomber makes its first voyage from Miami in January 2027, Same Boat will be the largest music venue on the ship and the first artist-designed performance space in the cruise line’s fleet.
The partnership marks a symbolic passing of the tropical torch—one that blends Zac Brown Band’s Southern style with Buffett’s well-loved “island time” energy.
According to the cruise line, Same Boat was curated with Brown involved in every aspect—from visual design to acoustics to programming. The venue was designed to evoke the sensation of being at a show, with ocean air in your lungs and salt on your skin.
“Designing Same Boat has been about bringing that easygoing energy that’s always guided my music to life,” Brown said in a statement. “Every detail reflects pieces of my own journey — from the stage to the sea.”
Inside the venue, travelers can expect live performances, cocktails, a handcrafted stage setup, and an atmosphere designed to evoke the feeling of being in a floating front row.
The space aims to carry the spirit of Buffett’s sun-soaked world—the same world where cheeseburgers in paradise, lost shakers of salt, and beachside daydreams have been celebrated for decades.
The timing aligns with the release of the band’s upcoming album Love and Fear, which features collaborations with artists including Dolly Parton and Snoop Dogg.
