Cam’ron gave Akademiks his flowers during the It Is What It Is panel at ComplexCon.
On Saturday, Ak asking Cam a question led into Killa thanking Akademiks for his support over the years.
“First of all, I wanna tell you…thanks for the continuous support of, of course, the show but just me as a rapper,” Cam’ron said. “Before everybody was podcasting and everything else, I remember you had a show on YouTube and nobody even knew [what] you looked like, and I was like, ‘This guy always showed me super duper love, man.’
“And it’s been going on for years and you still do, so I just want to tell you thank you and congratulations on everything you got going on. Thank you for the continued support.”
As for Akademiks’ question, he appeared to be asking whether it'd be "worth it" to interview Adrien Broner in light of the boxer's contentious recent appearance on It Is What It Is. In September, Cam’ron ended his interview with Broner mid-episode because he was flirting with the podcast’s moderator, Treasure "Stat Baby" Wilson, and football analyst Arabia Tillery.
After the boxer continued hitting on both women throughout the show, Cam had had enough. "Alright, hey, we're gonna have to ask you to go, my n***a," the host said, while pulling out a wad of cash.
When Broner told Cam he would stop pestering Wilson, Cam wasn’t buying it.
"I asked you the first time. I don't have no problems with you, but I'mma pay you for your time. But you can't violate, bro. I told you that,” Cam said. "If you want to wait for us outside, you could. But I'm not going to sit and not value your time neither," he added, while counting the cash.
"That's why I love you, Cam. You're a good n***a, man," Broner said before exiting the set. After the interview, Cam took to Instagram, calling Broner’s behavior "outta pocket."
