During an appearance at ComplexCon on Sunday, DDG told Akademiks that he made more money in 30 days of streaming than he did from his record label deal.

"For what I signed for, I made that in 30 days on Twitch," DDG said when asked to compare his rap contract to what he makes on streaming, as seen at the 2:09-mark of the video below.

Per their website, DDG is signed to Epic records, though the amount of money that he signed for is not disclosed. According to chart data, his most recent album, moo, sold 4400 units in its first week of release.

Elsewhere in the interview, DDG said that "streamers make more than rappers, a hundred percent."

"There's too many ways to make money," DGG said, pointing to all the different revenue streams that streamers have at their disposal.

DDG's interview was just one element for an eventful weekend for the streamer. At one point during ComplexCon, DDG gave a 10-year-old upcoming journalist some cash for performing well in school.

He also teamed up with PlaqueBoyMax to name Kai Cenat as the streamer of the year.

Speaking of Kai, DDG defended his fellow streamer when Akademiks implied that Kai is only in it for the money.

According to him, Kai does marathon streams not for the bag, but for "legacy reasons."

"It's like, nobody can be bigger than them right now," he added. "I think it's more so that."
