PARTYNEXTDOOR and Drake have gotten two special Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) certifications less than one year after the release of their collaborative album.
As of Monday (November 10), their debut joint album, $ome $exy $ongs 4U, has been RIAA-certified Platinum after selling one million album-equivalent units. $$$ 4U was released on Valentine's Day and broke an Apple Music record for most popular R&B/Soul album in global first-day streams.
The 21-track LP includes singles "Gimmie a Hug" and "Nokia," both of which the artists performed during their co-headlining Some Special Shows 4 U Tour over the summer. "Nokia" is also RIAA-certified platinum, while six other $exy songs, including "CN Tower," "Spiderman Superman," and "Die Trying," are now certified Gold. The duo's "Somebody Loves Me" was named as a 2026 Grammy nominee in the Best Melodic Rap Performance category last Friday.
In the months since $exy, Drake has been back in the lab for his ninth solo album Iceman, teasing it on Instagram and occasional livestreams. The LP is due to release by the end of 2025, just in time for winter.
