Funny Marco considers DDG to be Gen-Z’s Nick Cannon.

The Open Thoughts host is the latest Complex News guest, and on the Tuesday (Nov. 4) episode, he shared how he wanted to follow a career path similar to entertainment legend Nick Cannon. Just like Cannon was a millennial industry notable from All That! to Wild'n Out, Marco also views popular streamer DDG as similar.

"I look up to Nick Cannon 'cause he's done so much. When you think of Nick Cannon, you don't think of one thing," Marco said around the 24-minute mark of the video below. "You damn sure don't think he funny, but overall he's smart and he knows how to work."

Marco added that he has "respect" for the entertainer and podcaster, calling him the "GOAT" before calling DDG the younger version of Cannon.

"'Cause they open doors. They create new things. They both done music," Marco explained. "DDG has done YouTube. [Cannon] has done Wildin' Out. And they both speak their mind and they both get girls like, 'Damn, [DDG] had Rubi Rose. [Nick] had Mariah Carey. It's just like they in their own world."

The media personality stressed that Cannon and DDG are "the same person," which Complex's Mami Tiff jokingly 'saw' by closing her eyes.

"So, DDG, would you say [he's done] one thing?" Marco asked.

"Well, I know him from YouTube," Tiff replied.

"But he's done Twitch, he's done music, he's done a lot. Fashion. And he also opened doors for people," Marco broke down.

Cannon and DDG have been in the same circles for years, although the streamer apparently got over on Cannon in a spades game.

"DDG came over here talking about he had never played spades before. He lied," Cannon told HipHopDX last year.
