Joe Jonas denies that he was on cocaine in a viral video that showed him wiping his nose during a September concert.
In the clip, which was filmed during a Jonas Brothers' JONAS20: Greetings from Your Hometown performance in Los Angeles, the musician was spotted aggressively wiping his nose, which concerned some that he had snorted the addictive substance. But in a new interview with Esquire, the 36-year-old put the rumors to rest and even joked about how he'd make it less obvious.
"I’ve never touched cocaine in my life," Jonas told the publication, adding, "but if I did, I think I’d be a little slicker about it than doing it onstage."
Jonas would later joke about the moment during another performance where he pulled out a lengthy napkin to wipe his nose.
When the original video circulated in September, Jonas joked about the controversy by commenting "lol you never had a booger?" on a since-deleted post, according to E News!.
Over ten years ago, Jonas had to address rumors that he and his then-girlfriend, Blanda Eggenschwiler, were abusing heroin after the Jonas Brothers cancelled their tour in 2013.
"It's obviously not true. I've never touched heroin in my life. Neither has my girlfriend," Jonas stated at the time. "It's hilarious to me, but also frustrating as well. It pissed me off when it's about my girl and even about myself."
