New York City mayoral candidate frontrunner Zohran Mamdani was in attendance for PinkPantheress' recent Brooklyn concert.
On the Friday (October 24) date of the An Evening With PinkPantheress Tour at Kings Theatre, the crowd was filmed and projected onto the screen behind the British vocalist as she performed. Spotted in the front row was Mamdani with his palms out and ink that read "Our time has come. Vote Nov 4."
Mamdani has proven his ability to connect with Gen Zers and millennials since he announced his campaign last October. In June, the politician attended the final concert of Wu-Tang Clan's show at Madison Square Garden, where he spoke with the legendary rap crew along with Run The Jewels and the LOX.
In one part of the video below, he validated Wu-Tang leader RZA about feeling "stuck" in Brooklyn's Brownsville section. "I think a big part of it is to make Brownsville a place you don't have to leave, to have that same life," Mamdani told the rapper-producer. "The whole campaign that we ran on was about, 'How do we make the most expensive city in the United States of America affordable?'"
After winning the Democratic primary, Mamdani will soon face off against Andrew Cuomo, who Mamdani soundly defeated in the aforementioned primary, and Republican nominee Curtis Silwa. Current mayor Eric Adams dropped out of the race in September.
PinkPantheress' tour continues with a second Brooklyn show on Saturday night (October 25) before heading to Toronto, Chicago, Los Angeles and ending in the Bay Area. Watch her recent Please Explain interview with Complex editor-in-chief Aria Hughes below.
ComplexCon returns to Las Vegas on October 25–26, 2025, with over 300 brands and live performances by Young Thug, YEAT & Friends, Peso Pluma, Central Cee, Ken Carson, and more. Get your tickets now.
