The grandmother of one of Sexyy Red's children claims the rapper threatened violence against her.
According to St. Louis news station Fox 2 Now, Nicole Barnes, 51, the paternal grandmother of one of the rapper's children (she has a son and daughter), alleges that Sexyy, born Janae Wherry, encouraged her fans to physically assault her.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch claims that the "Get It Sexyy" artist posted a photo of Barnes' home on Facebook and requested that fans "kick in the door" to harm Barnes. According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Barnes' address was posted on Dec. 3, 2024.
"Sexxy Red and her baby daddy are getting into beefs, for whatever reason, that have nothing to do with my client," said Barnes' attorney, Steven Weaver. "We did try to informally resolve it, and her attorneys thought it was a joke. And now they’re finding out it's not."
Since the incident, Barnes says that she and her family have relocated from the Hazelwood home to protect themselves, but live in "constant fear." Barnes is suing for five million in damages, alleging assault and that the rapper purposely and recklessly caused emotional distress.
Sexyy's son, Chuckie, was born in 2020, while she welcomed a baby girl last February. Although the rapper seems to have a contentious relationship with Barnes, last month, Sexyy was a guest on The Jennifer Hudson Show, where she spoke about spending time with her children.
