Young Thug has no doubts about which of his projects stands above the rest.
The Atlanta rap star joined streamer Adin Ross on a recent livestream and revealed that his favorite album from his catalog is his 2019 hit project So Much Fun.
“It was just the biggest album for me,” Thug explained. “I just felt like I had achieved the world when that album dropped, and I didn’t feel that way about no other album. I felt like So Much Fun was just, like, so fucking fun."
Thug added that his friends sometimes disagree with his pick, saying that, for example, 21 Savage prefers Barter 6 and Jeffery.
When asked about his favorite track, Thug pointed to “Family Don’t Matter,” a standout cut from his 2017 mixtape Beautiful Thugger Girls.
The country-infused rap song, featuring Millie Go Lightly, showcased Thug’s willingness to experiment with sound and pushed the boundaries of Atlanta trap.
So Much Fun, meanwhile, marked a major career milestone for Young Thug.
It was executive produced by J. Cole and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and featured star-studded collaborations with Future, Gunna, Lil Baby, 21 Savage, and Machine Gun Kelly. Its biggest single, “Hot” with Gunna, later remixed with Travis Scott, became one of the defining hits of Thug’s career and cemented his mainstream status.
The significance of So Much Fun went beyond the charts. As he told Ross, the album represented a sense of accomplishment and joy that he hadn’t felt with any other project.
“That was the best time,” he said. “That was the time to be alive for sure.”
