Questions still surround the death of teen Celeste Rivas Hernandez, whose body was found in a towed Tesla registered to Weathered artist D4vd in September.

Now, Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman is reminding those following the case that the investigation remains ongoing.

In a brief exchange with with a TMZ videographer on Wednesday (Oct. 15), Hochman was asked for an update on the case, which has garnered significant media attention in recent weeks as new information trickles through headlines.

“It is currently under investigation,” Hochman told the publication.

Asked specifically about D4vd and any other potential suspects, Hochman reiterated the ongoing nature of the investigation and confirmed that police hadn’t yet been presented a case to his team.

“We don’t discuss suspects or the points in a continuing investigation,” Hochman explained. “When and if that case is presented to the DA’s office and we make a decision on it, I’ll make sure you’re one of the first to know.”

When reached for comment by Complex on Thursday, a DA's office rep offered the following: “A case has not been presented to our office for filing consideration.”

Complex has also reached out to the Los Angeles Police Department for further comment. This story may be updated.

Earlier this month, an LAPD rep informed Complex that the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner hadn’t yet determined the cause or manner of Celeste’s death.

“As such, it remains unclear whether there is any criminal culpability beyond the concealment of her body,” the rep added.

Per a previous LAPD statement to Complex, at around 12:20 p.m. local time on Sept. 8, officers responded to an area tow yard after reports of “a foul odor coming from a vehicle.”

In subsequent updates, the department said it was “following up on several leads,” with “several items of evidence” confirmed to have been recovered during a search of a home “in connection with” Celeste’s death.

D4vd has not been charged in the case. A rep previously said that he was “fully cooperating” with the investigation.
