Suge Knight gets multiple mentions in Sean Combs: The Reckoning, a new Netflix documentary from executive producer 50 Cent.
In the doc, directed by Alexandria Stapleton, Bad Boy alum Mark Curry recalls working the door at a club in Atlanta in 1995 when he allegedly witnessed the Death Row Records co-founder use Diddy as a shield against potential bullets.
“Every Friday, we had a Bad Boy party,” Curry, who worked the door at the club before becoming a Bad Boy artist himself, said. “So Puff was there, Suge Knight came that night with his friend Jake [Robles]. I was working the door. Suge was looking for Puff.”
At one point, both Suge and Jake are said to have been escorted out of the club by an off-duty cop, all while Diddy and others also made their way outside.
“A man appeared with one hand behind his back and he was holding a pistol,” Curry said in the four-part docuseries. “He touched Jake with the pistol and looked at Suge like this, and was shooting Suge’s friend like this. He shot him five times. Suge grabbed a hold to Puffy in a chokehold and put him in front of him like this. So he was moving Puff around. … You shoot him, you gon’ shoot Puffy. You not gon’ shoot me.”
As previously reported, the Stapleton-helmed doc also includes interviews with Diddy trial jurors and Danity Kane alum Aubrey O’Day. Diddy’s reps, meanwhile, have condemned the series, specifically criticizing 50 Cent’s involvement and the use of footage they say wasn't authorized for release.
