Megan Thee Stallion is partnering with Fanatics Sportsbook to help ring in the start of the NBA season.
Seen in the official announcement video for the timely partnership is a custom-made Dallas Mavericks jersey. Fans should no need reminding as to why, exactly, this jersey is noteworthy, but just in case, here’s a reminder: Megan has been romantically linked with Mavericks player Klay Thompson for some time now.
Earlier this month, Megan debunked then-prevalent breakup speculation by sharing a montage video to Instagram prominently featuring Klay. The video was captioned, “My baby my babyyy.” Back in July, Klay told fans he was “in love,” crediting this with upping his golf game.
As part of her Fanatics collaboration, Megan will serve as an NBA spokesperson and is set to appear in the Fanatics Sportsbook app and in commercials.
“NBA is back, and this season, all the hot girls are with Fanatics Sportsbook,” Megan said in Tuesday’s announcement video.
The Fanatics team employed a similar strategy back in August when they enlisted Livvy Dunne to help kick off football season. Revisit that campaign here.
Megan recently made headlines with her comments on the competitiveness of the music industry during an appearance at the Taraji P. Henson-hosted I Am the Table Benefit Brunch earlier this month. As we reported at the time, Megan said “of course” she’s competitive, although that’s not at the core of her drive as an artist these days.
“I wanna be number one, for sure,” Megan said at the event. “But that’s not why I do it.”
