Family Matters star Darius McCrary has reportedly been arrested near the United States and Mexico border on a felony warrant.
TMZ reports that the 48-year-old actor, best known for playing Eddie Winslow in Family Matters from 1989 to 1998, was taken into custody by U.S. Border Patrol on October 9 for an out-of-state felony charge.
The outlet claims that, according to his representative Ann Barlow, the warrant was issued in Michigan after McCrary allegedly missed a court appearance due to unpaid child support.
McCrary is reportedly being held in a San Diego jail.
The actor's latest arrest follows his 2023 detainment for failing to pay child support for a second time.
On November 27 of that year, McCarary was arrested on a felony charge of not paying child support. Court docs revealed that he had an outstanding payment due of $52,788.04 as of March 19, 2023.
McCrary inizially pled not guilty at his arraignment, and the judge set his bond conditions at $13,197.01.
In 2015, McCrary was arrested due to a similar charge and had to pay $5,500 in back child support. In 2017, he claimed that he’d only made $500 and wasn’t able to commit to child support payments at the time.
When his divorce from his ex-wife Tawnny Brawner was finalized in 2019 after a two-year battle, McCrary was ordered to pay her $1,366 per month in child support.
