During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Jennifer Lopez was asked if there’s any credibility to the rumors that she ended her engagement with Alex Rodriguez because he cheated on her with Madison LeCroy.
“It came up at a Southern Charm reunion a few years ago… that your ex A-Rod was DMing one of the cast members,” Cohen asked Lopez during a game of his recurring segment, Plead the Fifth. Cohen suggested that there was “a lot of speculation” that A-Rod’s DMs “somehow led to your breakup,” but he stopped short of naming LeCroy directly.
“You know, I really have nothing to say about my personal life anymore,” she laughed after thinking about her answer for a moment. “I feel like I’m done with that.”
The audience applauded her response, to which she added, “Yes! Support!”
J Lo and A-Rod started dating in 2017 and got engaged in 2019, but they paused their wedding plans when the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 prompted nationwide lockdowns. In 2021, they called off their engagement. LeCroy appeared in a reunion episode of Southern Charm that same year, and said that she had spoken to A-Rod over Instagram but denied sleeping with him. A source claimed to Page Six at the time that the scandal with LeCroy contributed to their break-up.
Earlier this month, the singer and actor said that she’s “hopeful” she’ll find love again, following her more recent divorce from Ben Affleck.
“The more self-aware I become with the lessons that I learn and the hardships that I go through, the more I feel whole and complete on my own,” Lopez told CBS Mornings this month.
