Selena Gomez’s family is recovering from a frightening incident in Los Angeles this week after her mother-in-law, Sandra Beth Levin, was targeted in a late-night break-in at her Studio City home.
According to officials who spoke with FOX 11, Levin—mother of Grammy-nominated producer Benny Blanco—was inside the residence on the evening of Monday, November 24, when she heard the sound of glass shattering. The unexpected noise sent her rushing to a bathroom, where she locked the door while the intruders moved through the $3 million property.
Authorities say Levin could hear movement outside the bathroom and, at one point, cautiously opened the door to look down the hallway. She reportedly saw two masked individuals inside the home. As soon as they noticed she was present, they ran from the scene.
Police responded quickly and found a damaged window and broken glass around the entry point. No injuries were reported, and investigators are still determining whether anything was taken. The house is owned by Blanco’s parents, Sandra and Andrew Levin.
The burglary comes at a time of major visibility for the family. Blanco—born Benjamin Levin—has built a long résumé of chart-topping production credits and holds eleven Grammy nominations, including a nod this year for Best Dance Pop Recording for “Bluest Flame,” his collaboration with Gomez.
Gomez and Blanco, who married in September following celebrations in Cabo San Lucas and Las Vegas, hosted their wedding ceremony in Santa Barbara with a guest list full of industry friends. The pair made a recent appearance at the 2025 Academy Museum Gala, weeks before this latest incident.
Photos from the scene showed officers surveying the property and conducting an armed sweep to ensure the home was secure. As of this writing, police have not released descriptions of the suspects or identified any potential motive.
The investigation remains active as detectives review evidence and canvass the neighborhood for additional information.
