Kris Jenner is known to have quite amicable relationships with her kids’ exes.
The momager, 70, recently sat down with On Purpose podcast host Jay Shetty, 38, who asked how she still extends love and care to her children’s ex-partners, even if they have endured difficult times.
“First of all, I believe in my heart and in my soul, love is love. And I fall in love with people,” Jenner said at the 46:08 mark of the video below. “These are, in most cases, the fathers of my grandchildren. And I love these men. And that love doesn't go away when we experience really challenging times with them. It just doesn't turn off like that for me.”
She continued, “And I think that goes back to communication, compassion, forgiveness, and moving through that so you can get to a place where they know they can always come to me. Every one of my kids’ exes knows that they have an open door.”
She likened how she treats her kids’ exes to how she and Robert Kardashian co-parented after their divorce was finalized in 1991, the same year she married Caitlyn Jenner.
Kardashian and Kris Jenner still celebrated birthdays, Christmases, and New Year’s Eves together with their children after their divorce.
“When that happened, Robert knew that he could come walking in that back [door]. It took a couple years,” she explained. "It was all about the kids. Because if you sit and berate your partner over and over and over again to the kids … it really creates so much damage psychologically, emotionally, physically, spiritually, all of it. The children don't know how to process that—it's a grief, it's a separation.
“It's the same way I now treat all of my kids' exes, which a lot of people don't understand … but we've all dealt with those issues internally and privately,” she added. “Now, it's time to grow the fuck up, be mature, and I love who I love. And I don't like what they've done. No, I don't. But it doesn't make the love get any less overnight. And I'm there for them always.”
During her conversation with Shetty, Jenner specifically mentioned her daughter Kylie Jenner’s ex, Travis Scott, and Khloé Kardashian's ex, Tristan Thompson. Each former couple has two children.
“I’m close to Travis,” Kris Jenner said, adding that she views his parents and siblings as “family.” She said she feels the same way about Thompson, who will walk into her house and call her “mom.”
It appears that she’s the closest with Thompson, Travis, and Kourtney Kardashian’s ex, Scott Disick. Jenner’s kids’ ex-partners also include Kanye West, Blac Chyna, Lamar Odom, Tyga, Ray J, Kris Humphries, Devin Booker, and Bad Bunny.
