TikTok influencer Malik Taylor has passed away. He was 28 years old.
At this time, his cause of death is unclear. His business fraternity, Alpha Kappa Psi, confirmed the news in a statement posted to Facebook.
"It is with heavy hearts that we share our beloved Brother, Malik Taylor, has gone to 'Audit Eternal,'" the announcement said. "To know him was to know he was a light to everyone — always bringing laughter, joy and a warm smile that brightened every room he entered."
The statement continued: "Though your time with us was far too short, you were a good and faithful Brother, and the 'Great Auditor' will reward you for your everlasting work."
Taylor was a member of the frat while attending Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee, from which he graduated in 2020, according to People.
Taylor gained a following thanks to his pop culture explainers and comedy videos, amassing over 15,000 followers on Instagram and 252,000 on TikTok. He recently moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, and celebrated his 28th birthday on July 2, with a somewhat eerie caption.
"Survived the 27 club (Barely). Only right I celebrate my 28th likes it’s the party of the century. Call me Malik Gatsby. Cheers to the rest of my roaring 20s Old Sport."
