OnlyFans star Sophie Rain says she spent $1,000 to buy a limited-edition Starbucks bear cup from another customer after driving hours to find it.
“I spent $1000 to get the viral Starbucks bear cup,” she posted on TikTok, holding the beanie-wearing glass tumbler. The cup, part of Starbucks’ 2025 holiday line, retails for $29.
“I’ve been looking for this bear cup for a couple days now,” she said. “Literally ever since it came out, I knew I needed her in my life.”
Rain said she checked over 50 locations near her and found none in stock.
Eventually, she tracked one down three hours away. But when she arrived, someone else had already grabbed it.
"So I go up to her and I’m like, can I please buy that off of you? I’ve been looking for this cup. I will do anything. I have $1000 in my car, cash, I can give you," she recalled. "And she did not hesitate to say yes. She was so nice."
Rain followed up in the caption, "Thank you to the girl who let me have it."
Online, her post sparked mixed reactions.
“$1000 would definitely change my life at this moment so I get her,” one TikTok commenter wrote. Others were less sympathetic.
“It’s a cup…” said one user. “Imagine driving 3 hours and spent a 1000 dollars on a cup,” another added.
The Bearista cup, shaped like a teddy bear wearing a green knit-style hat with a Starbucks logo, has become the most sought-after holiday item from the coffee chain’s new collection launched on November 6.
Foot traffic surged in some areas as fans camped out or called dozens of stores to locate one.
Some videos show baristas jokingly pretending to be automated messages saying the bear cups are sold out.
On eBay, listings for the Bearista cup have topped $1,200. The cup is often bundled with Starbucks' Hello Kitty plush, also released for the 2025 holiday season and sold out at many stores.
Starbucks will release a follow-up collaboration with fashion label Roller Rabbit on December 2, giving collectors another shot at limited-edition merchandise.
Meanwhile, Rain says she’s thrilled with her purchase.
"Yeah, I might have spent 30 times the amount on this," she said, "but now I can flex every single time I go into a Starbucks."
