Teyana Taylor and Aaron Pierre are still going strong, with the actress and singer calling Pierre her "apple pie" and "safe space."
The two starred as lovers in the visual album for Taylor's latest LP, Escape Room, one year after she finalized her divorce from former NBA player Iman Shumpert. The ex-spouses were married from 2016 to 2024 and share two daughters: Junie, 9, and Rue Rose, 5.
In a new profile for The Hollywood Reporter, the One Battle After Another star didn't label her relationship with Pierre but explained how comfortable she's become with the British actor.
"That’s my apple pie, and we are each other’s safe space," Taylor told the Reporter.
"If that’s something that I decide to say, then it’s going to be something that we say together," she added about labeling their relationship.
Pierre was also name-dropped in Taylor's Vanity Fair lie detector test with her All's Fair co-star Kim Kardashian when the socialite and designer asked Taylor whether she calls Pierre "Mufasa" in the bedroom. The actor provided the voiceover for the animated character in the 2024 film of the same name.
"Only because I actually would feel cringe being like, 'Yeah, Mufasa. Mu-mu, take me to Pride Rock,'" Taylor replied. "I never called him 'Mufasa' in the bedroom, but yeah, we do make Mufasa jokes."
Months before Pierre called Taylor "someone who I love" in his recent Men's Health cover story, Taylor gushed to Complex's Jordan Rose that she considers her new partner to be "gentle."
"[He] allows me to feel warm and and to feel safe and not be in survival mode," she said at the time.
