Teyana Taylor, who's currently dating actor Aaron Pierre, still considers herself a "lover girl" one year after divorcing Iman Shumpert.
The One Battle After Another star spoke in a new Marie Claire story about her romantic side and affirmed that she isn't emotionally weak when it comes to love.
"I’ve noticed that people who will make fun of lovers are people who don’t have the ability to love at the full capacity, and they’re jealous of that," the singer-actress said. "You know the quote 'Good girls finish last?' No, good girls finish on their own divine time."
"Like, I’m going to take my time. And I’m gonna properly love and I’m gonna be a lover girl and I’m gonna be a simp, whatever comes with that. I love to love," Taylor continued.
"People that don’t have emotional intelligence make fun of lovers. I am a soldier of love. I am a love warrior," she added. "I am a lover girl and I love everything about it and I’m okay with that. One thing nobody could ever take away from me is the love that I give."
Taylor ended by advising her female fans not to be "ashamed of being a lover girl." "I think lovers are the most emotionally intelligent," she concluded.
Taylor shares two daughters with Shumpert and began dating Pierre earlier this year, with the actor starring in her Escape Room visual. In the months following Taylor's messy split from her ex-husband, a judge decided to hold the vocalist in contempt after she spoke about details of their divorce during an Instagram Live session.
Taylor was ordered to pay Shumpert $70,000, and on an episode of The Breakfast Club last month, she called it the "best little coin" she's ever spent.
