Tiffany Haddish says she would go on a dates just for a free meal when she was financially struggling.
The actress-comedian has talked about going great lengths to stay afloat before becoming a celebrity, even selling her used underwear. Haddish also used men for a free bite, which she explained during an Instagram Live session this week.
Haddish began by saying that she “cares too much about other people” because she felt neglected when she was strapped for money.
"Do you know how horrible it is to go on a date with a guy because you need a meal?" the Haunted Mansion star asked in the clip below. "I don't even want to be nice to this person or get to know him. I'm hungry."
Haddish also predicted that there will be "a lot more thinner people" due to ongoing inflation of grocery prices.
"We're about to learn how amazing the human body can be when you don't eat," she said. "Or, we're just gonna have more [malnourished] people because they'll be eating stuff out of packages..."
Haddish might not be among those falling on hard times; in January, the entertainer shared a positive Instagram reel about her improved money management.
"My relationship with money for the last 10 years?" she captioned the post, which showed her making out with a dollar bill. "We have had our ups and downs over the years, But We are growing and are stronger than ever."
