Demi Moore is back in Landman Season 2, this time as a grieving widow who partners with Billy Bob Thornton's Texas oilman, Tommy Norris.

However, the pair starred together on screen before, and Thornton, who gushed about Moore in an interview, says their bond goes back years.

"Demi and I have known each other for a long time, actually for 35 years," Thornton told People.

“I love that girl. She's beautiful and amazing and so talented,” he told People. “And I'm blessed to be with all these people in this show, frankly.”

Thornton told the outlet that he first met Moore when he filmed three movies with her ex-husband Bruce Willis "because she used to bring the kids out to the set and everything, and they knew my kids when they were little and everything."

In 1993, Thornton had a small role in Moore's big hit Indecent Proposal.

On Live With Mark and Kelly, Thornton said Moore claims she does remember him being in that movie. "The first time I reminded her of that, years ago, she said, 'Oh, yeah, that's right,' and I was like, 'No.'"

Thornton insisted to Kelly and Mark, "She didn't remember that." He said they were "in the same scenes," but he had a small role.

"The reason I got to know Demi over the years is because I did three movies with Bruce, her ex-husband, and Bruce and I were close. She used to bring the girls to the set to visit all the time, and that's how we got to know each other. So I saw those kids grow up, and now they're all adults," he said on that show.

Thornton told People that the lengthy relationship has helped the pair bond on screen, also.

“Over the years, you just become friends, and you know, to be able to see her on a daily basis has been wonderful,” he told People. “Anytime anything weird happens on the set or something breaks or whatever…we just look at each other and it's like…we have kind of an unspoken language. We could just give each other a look, and we know what it means.”

Moore discussed her Landman role on a panel, saying that it started with her character's grieving. She said the character wants to make sure her deceased husband "is never forgotten." There's a "fair amount of calamity that is thrown Cami's way," Moore said. "It's not the lightest season."
