I Love Boosters, penned by true multi-hyphenate Boots Riley, is officially part of the NEON family.

Tuesday, the production and distribution company, whose 2024 has been a decidedly strong year, confirmed that the film was set to star Keke Palmer, Naomi Ackie, LaKeith Stanfield, and Demi Moore. Per the caption added to a photo of a script draft, I Love Boosters, which notably shares a title with a 2006 song from Riley’s The Coup, is “coming soon.”

A report from Deadline adds a few more details, including a brief plot tease that suggests Riley’s new film, his first feature since the acclaimed Stanfield-starring Sorry to Bother You in 2018, will expand on the themes of the ’06 Coup track.

“This will be a crazy one,” Riley vowed in an IG update on Tuesday.

Other recent NEON titles include Longlegs, Seeking Mavis Beacon, Anora, Babes, and Infinity Pool. The company is no doubt an ideal partner for Riley's latest, as evidenced by the decidedly successful and undeniably unique strategy it set in motion surrounding Longlegs earlier this year.

I’m a Virgo, Riley’s most recent project, saw him bringing his oeuvre to the medium of television, telling an inspiringly unique story of a 13-foot-tall Oakland teen (played by Jharrel Jerome) across seven episodes for Prime Video. Riley directed all seven episodes, writing two including series opener “You a Big Muthafucka” and finale “A Metaphor for What.” The show's praise is well-earned, as Virgo stands as no doubt one of the most daringly original pieces of TV storytelling in years.
