This week’s release calendar is a bit lighter than what we’re used to, but there are still a handful of sneakers worth consideration that are set to arrive over the next few days.
The first drop is two new colorways of Matthew M. Williams’ Nike Zoom 004 on Thursday morning. These will be followed up by the Lakers-inspired Dunk High, “Varsity Royal” Griffey Max 1, and “Rust Pink” Women’s Air Jordan 3 on Friday. Things wrap up on Saturday with two releases, the “Fireberry” Waffle Trainer 2 and “Postal Ghost” Air Force 1 Experimental.

MMW x Nike Zoom 004

What You Need to Know: Matthew M. Williams’ latest sneaker work with Nike is two colorways of his original Zoom 004 silhouette. The Zoom 004 puts a modern twist on 2000s runners with unique overlays on each side panel and a double-stacked, Zoom cushioned midsole. One colorway that will be available keeps things simple with an all-black look, while the other opts for a “Rust Factor” color scheme that appears quite similar to Iron Man’s suit of armor.

Nike Dunk High 'Lakers'

What You Need to Know: This brand new Dunk High is inspired by the Los Angeles Lakers. It features a black upper, purple leather overlays, and yellow Swoosh. The most obvious nod to the defending NBA champions is the embroidered “Nike” branding on each lateral heel spelled out in the Lakers’ signature font.
Nike Air Griffey Max 1 'Varsity Royal'

When: Friday, May 28 at 10 a.m.

What You Need to Know: Another colorway of the Griffey Max 1 is returning to stores this Friday. This time, it’s the blue, white, black, and lime green “Varsity Royal” color scheme. This Seattle Mariners-inspired pair last made a return in May 2016 to coincide with Griffey’s induction into the Baseball Hall of Fame.
Women's Air Jordan 3 'Rust Pink'

When: Friday, May 28 at 10 a.m.

What You Need to Know: The latest women’s colorway of the Air Jordan 3 releasing later this week is outfitted in a familiar “Rust Pink” color scheme. The pink and infrared look was first introduced on Aleali May’s Air Jordan 6 collaboration that dropped back in March 2019. This take differs slightly with a cream-colored tongue, laces, and midsole.
Nike Waffle Trainer 2 'Fireberry'
Price: $100
When: Saturday, May 29 at 10 a.m.
Where: Nike SNKRS and other select retailers
What You Need to Know: The Waffle Trainer 2 is dropping on SNKRS this weekend in a bright “Fireberry” colorway perfect for the summertime. The retro runner features a Fireberry nylon upper, matching suede overlays, and bright orange leather accenting the heel tab and Swoosh. It sits on a black rubber waffle sole.
Nike Air Force 1 Experimental 'Postal Ghost'
Price: $130
When: Saturday, May 28 at 10 a.m.

What You Need to Know: Nike’s latest Air Force 1 Experimental takes some inspiration from the recognizable packaging of the United States Postal Service that plenty of sneakerheads are all too familiar with. The vacuum-sealed upper is covered in repeated “Air Force 1” text. An overlay mimicking a USPS shipping label is stamped on each heel.
