Miami Dolphins star Tyreek Hill and his wife, Keeta Hill, are reportedly heading for divorce after police responded to a domestic dispute call at their home.
According to TMZ on Wednesday, Keeta filed for divorce just one day after the incident at their Miami-area residence, where police said they responded to an "assault in progress." The 31-year-old reportedly lives with his wife of two years, his months-old daughter and his mother-in-law.
Per TMZ, citing an incident report from the Sunny Isles Beach Police Department, Hill explained that he was coming home from training when he started talking to his wife about their couple's therapy sessions. Keeta told police that when she told Tyreek that the sessions weren't working, that's when he became "irritated."
Authorities reportedly said Keeta's mother, Alesia Vaccaro, claimed she was the one who placed the call on Monday after witnessing Tyreek allegedly throw a computer to the ground and grab the couple's daughter and walked over to balcony of their 35th-floor condo with her in his arms.
"I have the same rights as a father as her as a mother, and I can take my baby whenever I want," the report said Hill stated, according to NBC Miami.
Tyreek's mother-in-law reportedly explained that arguments between him and Keeta happen often, calling the wide receiver "very aggressive and impulsive" and saying "he has anger issues."
“On Monday, we were informed that the police were called to Tyreek Hill’s home, and after conversations with Tyreek and members of his family, the police departed the residence without further incident and the case was closed," a Miami Dolphins spokesperson said in a statement, per NBC Miami. "We have since been in communication with Tyreek and the NFL and will have no further comment on the matter.”
Keeta's attorney, Evan R. Marks, told TMZ on Wednesday that "family matters are personal and respect the parties' privacy as it plays out."
Tyreek was not arrested and both parties reportedly told police that "the argument never became physical." Per TMZ, court records showed that Keeta filed for divorce in Miami-Dade County.
Tyreek and Keeta got married in November 2023 after being engaged for about two years. According to Men's Journal, Tyreek filed for a divorce just a few weeks after their were married but later said it was a mistake.
