Monday Night Raw promised a big night at Madison Square Garden—and then went ahead and rewrote the playbook.
According to Sports Illustrated, two of WWE’s most prominent names made surprise returns during the final segment of the show, setting the stage for a chaotic WarGames showdown at Survivor Series.
The night was already stacked. John Cena appeared for what WWE billed as his final Raw as an active wrestler, teaming with Sheamus and Rey Mysterio to defeat The Judgment Day in a six-man tag.
The Garden crowd erupted as the trio landed signature moves in sequence, with Cena sealing the victory after an Attitude Adjustment. That moment alone could’ve carried the show, but Raw wasn’t done.
In the main event, Team Punk & Rhodes and Paul Heyman’s Vision team met in the ring for an official War Games face-off. The Usos flanked CM Punk and Cody Rhodes as they confronted Drew McIntyre, Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, Logan Paul, and the still-mysterious fifth member of Heyman’s squad. The brawl broke out almost immediately.
Then everything shifted.
As Punk and Rhodes gained momentum, Brock Lesnar’s music hit, and Madison Square Garden detonated. Lesnar walked to the ring with one clear message: he was Heyman’s fifth man for War Games.
Once in the ring, he wasted no time, dropping both Punk and Rhodes and standing alone over the wreckage. As WWE noted earlier in the night, Heyman had promised an “epic” final pick—and delivered.
Lesnar’s return would’ve been the headline on any other night, but the shock doubled seconds later. Roman Reigns’ entrance stopped Lesnar mid-celebration, and the two longtime rivals met center-ring for the first time since their last championship clash.
Reigns hit a Superman Punch that sent the match-up back into chaos, signaling he was aligning with Punk, Rhodes, and The Usos as their fifth man at Survivor Series.
Reigns and Punk both still have unfinished business with Heyman, who turned on them earlier this year to form The Vision alongside Seth Rollins. Lesnar, meanwhile, has been closely tied to Heyman since his return at SummerSlam, where he defeated John Cena before facing him again at Wrestlepalooza.
Both teams are now set: Reigns, Punk, Rhodes, and The Usos vs. Breakker, Reed, McIntyre, Paul, and Lesnar inside WarGames on November 29 in San Diego.
Cena will also defend the Intercontinental Championship against Dominik Mysterio that night, while Stephanie Vaquer faces Nikki Bella for the Women’s World Championship, rounding out a stacked Survivor Series card.
