Trinidad Chambliss is the quarterback of the Ole Miss football team. He is a senior from Grand Rapids, Michigan, according to his Ole Miss bio.
According to his bio, Chambliss is a "transfer who arrived on campus prior to the start of fall camp." As the Ole Miss QB, though, his jersey was apparently a big get for some Egg Bowl fans.
Ole Miss Head Coach Lane Kiffin told reporters that fans stole Chambliss' jersey from the locker room before the game, according to a video interview posted by ESPN's Marty Smith.
“You can hear these fans already out here," Kiffin said. "This will be a great game today. It’s a very passionate rivalry. Shoot, at 10 o’clock last night, luckily our great Ken Crain, our equipment manager, put cameras in the locker room so we could watch Mississippi State break into our locker room and start stealing things."
After the incident was reported to the Mississippi State authorities, it happened again. "How about this? At 3 o’clock in the morning, they break in again and take Trinidad’s jersey," Kiffin said in the interview. "I guess you should expect nothing less from these people."
Smith also pressed Kiffin on his future with the team. He's been rumored to be considering a move to Florida or LSU. Kiffin called the rumors that he might leave "this noise thing," and he said he was worried about kickoff, not a timeline for a decision.
"@Lane_Kiffin just lose this game and announce that you’re going to LSU. I think we’re all tired of hearing about you leaving or not," a fan retorted in the X comment thread.
Chambliss previously played for Ferris State.
"Played in 25 games and made 16 starts during his four years at Division II Ferris State… Led the Bulldogs to their third national title in four years in 2024, defeating the previously unbeaten Valdosta State 49-14 for the championshipValdosta State 49-14 for the championship …" his bio for Ole Miss says of his time there.
