Former NBA player Jason Williams can't help but wonder if Megan Thee Stallion is to blame for Klay Thompson's underwhelming start to the 2025-26 season.

While speaking with co-host and fellow former NBA player Patrick Beverley on the Hoopin’ N Hollerin’ podcast, Williams suggested that Thompson’s relationship could be impacting his performance. The Golden State Warriors guard is currently shooting a career-low 31.4 percent from the field and just 26.7 percent from three-point range.

"I'm from West Virginia, man. I've been taught a lot by some old folks, some old white folks," Williams said. "It only takes one pussy to drag a battleship across the desert. That's how powerful it is."

"I ain't saying that's what it is, but that might be what it is," he concluded.

While Megan may be the easy target, Thompson's poor start could be attributed to many things. It could be as simple as the 35-year-old guard is playing his 13th season in the league, and he has entered the twilight of his accomplished career. It could be because Klay is averaging a career-low 8.6 shots per game, and he cannot get into a rhythm with so few attempts.

Klay and Megan sparked relationship speculation after she posted a photo of the two making a heart sign while she held a key in front of a house, leading many to wonder if the pair have recently moved in together.
