Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown gave students at Wheeler High School in Marietta, Georgia, a moment they won't soon forget during a surprise visit to his alma mater.
In a lighthearted one-on-one matchup with the school's principal earlier this week, Brown unexpectedly found himself on the wrong end of a viral highlight as the principal stripped the ball clean from the All-Star guard. The defensive play drew a roar from the packed gym as students and staff erupted in celebration.
The principal then decided to seize the moment and charge toward the hoop, but his adrenaline rush got the best of him as he missed a wide-open layup that would have cemented the play. Brown quickly redeemed himself on the next possession, reminding everyone in attendance that he's in the NBA.
He powered to the rim and threw down a thunderous dunk over the principal, sending the gym into chaos and students trying to capture the moment on their phones. The clip has since spread across social media, with many joking about how Brown's ball-handling skills, or not being able to "go left," led to the viral moment.
"Jaylen Brown never beating the left hand allegations," one person tweeted. Another said, "Still can't go Left."
A third person wrote, "Couldn't even go left against a principle."
Brown is confident in his athletic skills and won't hesitate to show it off against anyone willing to challenge him. In a streaming session with Plaqueboymax earlier this month, Brown revealed he would beat IShowSpeed in a race.
"Speed's not beating me in a race, I don't care what nobody says," Brown told Max. "Chat, I'm rolling Speed, I'm rolling him up."
Speed has yet to respond to Brown's bold challenge, but it would be something to see, given the streamer has already beaten Ashton Hall and barely lost to Olympic champion Noah Lyles.
