Tom Brady shared some advice with Shedeur Sanders after the 23-year-old quarterback fell to the fifth round in the 2025 NFL Draft.

In a conversation with Logan Paul's Impaulsive podcast, Brady, 27, reflected on the latest draft. Sanders, his mentee, was the 144th pick despite being projected to go in the first round.

Brady, who was drafted with the 199th pick in the 2000 NFL Draft, said he texted Sanders to let him know all he needed to worry about was taking advantage of the chances he's going to get.

"I actually texted Shedeur cause I know him very well and I said like 'Dude whatever happens, wherever you go ... That's your first day. Day two matters more than the draft,'" said the seven-time Super Bowl champion. "I was 199, so who could speak on it better than me, like what that really means. Use it as motivation, you're going to get your chances, go take advantage of it."

Brady added, "Wherever you end up going ... it's about your performance. What do you do when you get there? Because you're going to get there."

Many thought the Las Vegas Raiders, of which Brady is a partial owner, would draft Sanders. The Raiders instead went with two other quarterbacks, Montana State's Tommy Mellott and North Dakota State's Cam Miller.

The Cleveland Browns selected Sanders in the 2025 NFL Draft, and he will be wearing the No. 12 jersey. Brady wore that same number throughout his NFL career with the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
