Victor Wembanyama met Mugsy Bogues for the first time at NBA All-Star Weekend.

Cameras captured footage of 7-foot, 3-inch Wemby and the legendary 5-foot, 3-inch guard linking up and exchanging pleasantries. After Bogues told Wemby, “It’s nice to meet you,” Wemby let him know that he’d actually seen him a long time ago in Paris.

“You’re one of the first NBA players I ever saw,” Wemby shared. “That was my first game ever.”

Wemby’s had an interesting 2025 NBA All-Star Weekend. Saturday night, he and Chris Paul were disqualified after trying to get a competitive edge over their peers.

During the Skills Challenge, Wemby and Paul were tested at bounce passing, chest passing, and taking different shots from around their prior. When they got to shooting, Wemby and Paul threw the ball at the rim so they could save time on their score.

Referees didn’t like that, so the players ended up getting disqualified.

"I don't regret it. I think it was a good idea," Wemby said about the strategy.

Draymond Green offered some context about the situation, saying that Wemby asked others on the court how many attempts he needed.

"It definitely sucked to see them throwing the ball like that," Green said. "But what I will say is, Wemby walked around the court asking everybody, ‘Make one or three attempts?’ And Wemby said, ‘Oh, so I can get all three of them up there?’ So, he asked.

"Now, he may not have asked the right people," Green continued. "But I will say, in Wemby's defense, he did ask a lot of people."
