Donald Glover gave a special introduction to Atlanta rap pioneers OutKast during their Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction.
For the performance part of the iconic Southern duo’s induction, Tyler, the Creator, Doja Cat, J.I.D. and Janelle Monae took the stage alongside Big Boi to play a medley of the group’s biggest hits, including “Ms. Jackson,” “B.O.B - Bombs Over Baghdad,” and “Hey Ya.”
It was announced earlier this year that the former duo, comprised of members André 3000 and Big Boi, would be inducted into the 2025 Rock Hall class along with Salt-N-Pepa, The White Stripes, Cyndi Lauper, Soundgarden and more.
GAS commemorated OutKast's entry into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame with official OutKast GAS Trading Cards available on Complex.
OutKast released six studio albums starting in 1994 with Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik, followed by ATLiens in 1996 and Aquemini in 1998.
Their last album was the 2006 Idlewild soundtrack, and the duo has had a handful of live reunions in the last decade. This year marks the 25th anniversary of their landmark album, Stankonia.
While Big Boi has steadily released solo and collaborative albums since 2010, André has contributed occasional rap verses on albums for the likes of Kanye West and A Tribe Called Quest. He released his debut instrumental album, New Blue Sun, in 2023.
