Family Matters star Darius McCrary is currently being held without bail following his recent arrest near the United States and Mexico border.
On Sunday (October 5), the 49-year-old actor was arrested and booked by the United States Border Patrol for an outstanding felony warrant. He hasn’t been sentenced yet and isn’t eligible for bail. He’s currently in a San Diego jail until Wednesday (October 15), when he'll then appear in court.
According to his representative Ann Barlow, McCrary’s warrant was issued in Michigan after he failed to appear in court over unpaid child support.
The actor's arrest follows his detainment in 2023 for failing to pay child support for a second time. That November, McCrary was arrested for a felony charge of not paying child support, with court documents revealing that he had an outstanding payment due of $52,788.04.
In 2015, McCrary faced a familiar charge. He was arrested due to needing to pay $5,500 in back child support. Two years after that, he claimed that he’d only made $500 and wasn’t able to commit to paying child support payments.
McCrary’s troubles seemingly stem from his divorce battle with his ex-wife, Tammy Brawner. The messy divorce was finalized in 2019, with McCrary being ordered to pay $1,366 per month in child support ($916 as the base amount, with an additional $415 in child-care costs).
Brawner was granted full legal and physical custody of their daughter, Zoey. Brawner alleged in court documents that McCrary "partially dislocated" her arm when taking her to the bathroom.
