Randy Orton Thinks IShowSpeed Has 'What It Takes to Be a WWE Superstar'

The WWE legend told the wildly popular streamer that he has what it takes.

For the latest episode of his YouTube series Speed Goes Pro, streamer IShowSpeed got some high praise from WWE legend and 14-time world champion Randy Orton after a training session.

Speed, who's made multiple appearances at WWE events, linked up with Irish wrestler Sheamus for the start of the training at the WWE Performance Center. He was also joined by former wrestlers and now trainers Fit Finlay and Matt Bloom, who decided to put the wildly popular YouTuber and streamer through the wringer during the session.

They taught him how to properly bounce off the ropes in the ring, and Speed immediately learned how hard it is to train properly.

“The people who say, like, wrestling is fake … Bro, it’s not fake,” Speed said.

He even managed to come up with his own move, which he called “The Speed Drop.”

When Orton joined, he highlighted their past in the ring.

“So, I’ve worked with Speed before at Wrestlemania,” he said. “I came here today to see exactly what degree he was capable of being in this business."

Orton taught Speed how to effectively sell fighting to gain sympathy from fans, but Speed conceded that it hurt when he got suplexed.

Near the end of the episode, he got in the ring for real, which he admitted was “a dream come true.” After the fight, Orton gave his honest thoughts on whether Speed has what it takes to be a WWE superstar.

“It takes a very long time to get good at your craft,” Orton said. “You got a long way to go. But without a shadow of a doubt, I think you do have what it takes to be a WWE superstar.”

He added that he thinks Speed is “ready,” and that he’s capable both physically and mentally.

“If he wants to stick with this journey, through hard work and dedication, he could one day be a full-time WWE superstar if he wants it,” he said.
