Taraji P. Henson is keeping her foot on the gas.

Fresh off her first-look deal with Fox Entertainment Studios and a two-picture agreement with Netflix, the Empire and Hidden Figures star has officially signed on to lead Peacock’s upcoming drama The Accomplice, based on Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson’s recently released novel, according to Deadline.

In the new series, Henson will star as Nia Adams, a fearless Texas Ranger determined to capture master thief Desmond Bell. What starts as a high-stakes pursuit quickly evolves into something far more dangerous, as Adams uncovers a conspiracy that could shake the foundations of power itself.

Her mission forces her to confront an impossible choice: expose the truth or protect the system she’s sworn to uphold.

The project reunites Henson with the kind of strong, layered storytelling that defined her breakout roles, and this time, she’s also involved behind the scenes. Through her production company, TPH Entertainment, Henson will serve as a non-writing executive producer on the series, alongside Jackson and his G-Unit Films and Television banner.

The series is currently in development at Universal Content Productions (UCP), with a writer yet to be announced.

Henson’s deal with Fox gives her the ability to develop both scripted and unscripted projects, some of which she may also star in. Between that and her continued work with Netflix, The Accomplice marks another significant move for the Oscar-nominated actress as she expands her presence across streaming platforms.

For Jackson, the series continues his run of successful television ventures. The rapper-turned-producer has built a thriving TV empire with Starz’s Power franchise, which includes Power Book II: Ghost, Raising Kanan, Force, and the upcoming Power: Origins and Power: Legacy.

Beyond that, he’s developing Fightland, a British boxing drama for Starz; Hip Hop Cop, based on Ron Stallworth’s memoir The Gangs of Zion, for Hulu; and a documentary series about Sean “Diddy” Combs for Netflix.
